AN ARDROSSAN man has appeared in court facing four charges after a string of alleged robberies and assaults in the town in recent weeks.

David Haggerty, 35, appeared in private at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Monday of this week.

He was charged with alleged robbery and assault, two counts of alleged assault with intent to rob and an alleged robbery.

The charges relate to incidents in the town between April 30 and May 12 in Whitlees Crescent, Princes Street, Parkhouse Road and Dalry Road.

Haggerty made no plea or declaration during the brief appearance.

He was remanded in custody to appear at the same court again next week.
