THERE will be a meeting at the end of this month to discuss funeral provisions in North Ayrshire.
The council confirmed that both funeral directors and members of the clergy would be invited to ‘share ideas’ to make sure the local people get the best possible service.
The meeting comes after it was announced a funeral ‘charter’ would be agreed to stop any time delays on burials across North Ayrshire.
A North Ayrshire Council spokesperson said: “We are arranging a meeting for late March which aims to bring together all parties to share ideas to ensure our Bereavement Service delivers the best possible service.
“It is proposed to create a ‘Bereavement Charter’ whereby all parties – including our Bereavements and Registration services along with Funeral Directors and Clergy – will agree a set of service standards that we should all endeavour to deliver.”
