PUPILS and staff from James Reid School accepted a donation from Charlie’s Bar in Ardrossan recently.
The pub on Glasgow Street raised £865 for the Saltcoats school.
Head teacher John Hamilton said that the money would go a long way.
He told the Herald: “We were really delighted. We can use it for all sorts of things.
“There’s a call for looking at our therapeutic approach to meeting individuals’ needs. We are funded but there’s always a limit. Being able to do a wee bit extra for the the children, push the boat out a bit, we really appreciated that.
“There are so many ways the money can be used. We have what they call ‘brick therapy’, which helps children with autism. We can buy extra Lego for that.
“That £865 will make a huge difference to what we are doing.”
