FORMER Kilmarnock boss Bobby Williamson has revealed he is facing a fight against cancer.
Williamson, who won the Scottish Cup with the Rugby Park side in 1997, is now living in Kenya and has been receiving treatment for the illness in India.
He said: “In the summer I had been bothered by what I felt was a blockage at the back of my throat. The tests did show it was cancerous cells in my nasal cavity. Michelle (his partner) told me in Kenya people who need lengthy hospital treatment go to India, so we made some enquiries and I came over to Delhi. The tumour has been removed but I had to go to have chemotherapy once a week and 20 sessions of radiotherapy, which was pretty tough”
The Rugby Park said on twitter: “Everyone at Kilmarnock FC sends their best wishes to Bobby Williamson as he undergoes cancer treatment.”
