NORTH Ayrshire Foodbank’s mobile cinema is set to hire a young person after winning funding from Community Jobs Scotland.

This financial support allows the Community Cinema project to offer a one-year, fixed term contract to a young person aged between 18 and 29.

Since February last year, the foodbank has been operating its successful mobile cinema project taking classic film and latest cinema hits to communities across the local authority area as well as Comic Con in Kilmarnock.

There are also weekly showings at the Ardrossan Church of the Nazarene. The funding allows them to give a one year contract to a young person who is keen to keep the cinema project mobile.

The main tasks are to load and unload as well as set up the equipment and cooking hot dogs and popcorn. Other responsibilities will include operating the cinematic and cooking equipment.

A driving licence would be beneficial. The work is based upon a 25 hour week which needs to be flexible and includes evening and weekend working.

The position will be paying a rate based upon the living wage. Application forms can be collected at the Saltcoats JobCentre or the Learn Direct website only.
