A TEENAGER has suffered 'life-changing' injuries after an incident near to Stevenston Railway Station early on Saturday morning.
Around 7am, reports were made that a man had come into contact with overhead power lines and police were called to the scene.
A 19-year-old man was rushed to hospital with severe burns and a statement from British Transport Police said that his injuries are considered 'life-changing'.
A spokesperson said: "Officers were called to an incident at 7am on Saturday, April 14 after reports that a man had come into contact with the overhead power lines close to Stevenston railway station.
"Paramedics from the Scottish Ambulance Service also attended and a 19-year-old man was taken to hospital in a serious condition. The man remains in hospital with injuries considered to be life-changing.
"This incident is not being treated as suspicious.”
