A 33-year-old man repeatedly kicked a dog to its injury and placed an elderly woman in a state of fear or alarm.
Francis Christopher Hughes caused the animal unnecessary suffering in that he repeatedly kicked it on the body to its injury.
Hughes, along with Lisa Dearie, 36, also behaved in a threatening or abusive manner towards a 64-year-old woman.
The pair, both of Holehouse Court in Largs, shouted, swore, acted in an aggressive manner and placed the pensioner in a state of fear or alarm.
The offences took place on May 18 of this year at an address in Saltcoats.
Hughes and Dearie appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week to face four charges between them.
Hughes, who appeared from custody, pled guilty to two charges.
Dearie pled guilty to one charge and not guilty to two. Her not guilty pleas were accepted by the prosecutor.
Sentence was deferred for reports until July 25.
Hughes was remanded in custody until then. The pair will return to the court on that date for sentencing.
