THE staff at Crosshouse Hospital’s Ward 3C were delighted to receive a touching donation from the generous family of a former patient.

Sisters Susan and Shona MacFadyen wanted to give something back to thank the staff at the ward for ‘the excellent treatment and support’ they have given to their mum, Ellen MacFadyen over the last four years and continue to give her.

As traditional musicians, they organised a Scottish variety concert in West Kilbride Village Hall to raise the fantastic sum of £1,000.

They brought traditional artists from all over the UK to the concert, including top Ayrshire musician, Andy Philip.

The event proved to be a great success and the family are extremely grateful to everyone who came and contributed.

Judy McKee, Deputy Charge Nurse, said: “We are delighted to receive this donation from the MacFadyen ladies.

“It means a great deal to all of our staff to be appreciated in this way.”
