HUGE crowds turned out for Kilwinning’s annual Picnic in the Park last Thursday.
The 2018 event in McGavin Park focused on the Year of Young People, with the local MSYPs in attendance.
As well as stalls and fun rides for the youngsters, there was entertainment throughout the day with performances from Ewan McAuley Pammi Quinn, Franklyn Acoustic, Connor Fyfe Music, Annastaisyar, Cranberry Singers, Sasha Kaloheris and James Kerr.
The Segdoune Royal Party were there too. The picnic was first held last year, organised by Kilwinning Community Events and their partners, North Ayrshire Council’s Family Learning Team and Curra Scotland.
Thanks to Kilwinning Locality funding, hundreds of wristbands for free inflatables and kids rides were distributed via the Family Support Team and local Holiday Clubs to those who faced a bleak holiday over the summer.
