Pupils from James Reid School enjoyed a musical visit ahead of their trip to the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.

Musicians from the Royal Scottish National Orchestra popped into the Saltcoats school to talk about their instruments.

The visit will now be followed by an outing to the concert hall where the children will watch the orchestra perform.

Pauline McIntosh, depute head at James Reid, said: “Pupils from James Reid School are heading up to Glasgow Royal Concert Hall this week to experience a performance by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra as part of their education programme.

“Two musicians visited the school to introduce the pupils to their instruments and the role that they have in the orchestra.

“Pupils and staff thoroughly enjoyed this opportunity and are really excited about the Glasgow outing.”
