A service based at Auchenharvie Academy has been commended at the Scottish Public Service Awards.
North Ayrshire Council’s Professional Learning Academy won the Employee Development and Skills Award at the accolades at the Scottish Parliament.
The awards, run by Holyrood magazine in conjunction with the Scottish Parliament and Scottish Government, celebrate the work of the country’s public servants.
Councillor John Bell, Cabinet Member for Education and Youth Employment, said: “We are extremely proud of the work of the whole team to improve outcomes for young people living in North Ayrshire.”
The Academy was established in November 2016 to support teaching staff in closing the poverty-related attainment gap in North Ayrshire through career-long professional learning.
Andrew McClelland, Head of Service for Learning, Teaching and Curriculum, and Lindsay Morris, Senior Manager, Education and Youth Employment, pictured, collected the award on behalf of the PLA team.
