AYRSHIRE'S favourite baby names for 2018 have been revealed
The annual list, produced by the National Records of Scotland, has provided the most favoured names across the local area.
In North Ayrshire, Jack tops the list with 14 babies named in 2018, one more than East Ayrshire. Oliver was second with 10 followed by Rory sitting in third with nine. Emily was the number one choice for the girls with 15 followed in second by Olivia with 10 and Evie in third spot with nine.
In South Ayrshire, the top name for a boy this year was Oliver with nine babies born in with the name in the area in 2018 while Olivia was the most favoured for girls with 17. Hunter and Blake were second and third for the boys with eight and seven given the names respectively. Emily and Amelia made it into the top three for the girls with 10 for Emily, seven fewer than table topper Olivia, and eight for Amelia.
Moving across to East Ayrshire, Jack tops the list with 13 babies in the area given the name in 2018 ahead of second place Noah with eight and Adam sitting just behind in third with seven. In terms of girls in the area, Ella is the table topper with 11 babies given the name ahead of South Ayrshires leader Olivia with nine and Eva in third with eight.
