THERE was no foul play surrounding the deaths of two animals on Seamill Beach, an SSPCA Inspector has confirmed.

Rumours were circulating on social media that a swan and a seal had been decapitated at the beach and those who found the tragic animals believed that there may have been something sinister behind the deaths.

Found on Friday, the animals were well known in the local area and the SSPCA are asking anyone who has any information about how they may have came to harm to get in touch.

The Scottish SPCA local area inspector said: “We can confirm we were alerted to a deceased seal and swan in Ayrshire on Sunday, January 13.

“After assessing the images it was concluded there was no evidence of foul play.

“However, if anyone has evidence which does suggest foul play we would advise they contact our animal helpline on 03000 999 999.”
