Saltcoats Swap Shop is looking for donations to help families facing emergencies after Christmas.
The swap shop, which is run entirely by volunteers, is struggling to meet demand following the festive period and is appealing to members of the public for help.
A spokesperson for Saltcoats Swap Shop said: “We are struggling to help any families after Christmas with anything as we have run out of food, electronic and gas monies and other emergency supplies.
“We have had a few messages and calls from members of the community who are really struggling and finding it hard to make ends meet. Some are struggling in silence and some have asked who no longer know which way to turn for help.
“For many different reasons we have families who live in the Three Towns and North Ayrshire area who are really struggling and are in need of food electricity and gas, so we are trying to get some items to share between them all and any future families who really need a helping hand.”
