PUPILS and staff at an Ardrossan school paid tribute to the Bard recently with their traditional Burns Brunch.
James McFarlane’s annual event is supported by the local community with a well-known piper lending his talents to the special day.
Lesley Ward from the school explained: “The Burns Brunch is held every year and is a whole school event, with parents and other invited guests attending too.
“Everyone takes part in a variety of Scottish dancing, which the pupils practice during the month of January, and we have a visit from our resident piper, Michael McCulloch, who has been coming along for many years.
“The pupils all respond amazingly to the sound of the pipes. After dancing, our seniors are piped in to present the haggis - this year our Address to the Haggis was delivered via a switch by a senior pupil.
“After our food we were entertained by three pupils from Stanley Primary School, with their fantastic rendition of Address to a Haggis.”
