NORTH Ayrshire Women’s Aid receive d a £2,500 donation to suppor tthose suffering domestic abuse.
Stagecoach raised £5,000 for the North and East Ayrshire charities after pledging to make a donation from every mobile bus ticket its customers purchased via its Bus App.
Each bus depot was asked to nominate a charity close to their hearts which included North Ayrshire Women’s Aid.
Sam Greer, Managin g Director, Stagecoach West Scotland said: “We take great pride in being a community focused organisation. We’re delighted to be able to support local food and famil y suppor t charities.”
Mary Beglan, North Ayrshire Women’s Aid’s chief officer said: “NAWA is trul y grateful fo r the kind donation from Stagecoach customers. Domestic abuse affects thousands of women and children throughout Scotland and North Ayrshire remains higher than the national average in relatio n to domestic incidents. Through donations such as this we are able to reach out to more women and children."
