THANKS to funding from Regional Screen Scotland’s Local Film Festival Challenge Fund a group of South Ayrshire cinema buffs are holding a major new event from March 14 to March 18.

Friends of the Broadway hope that the Prestwick Film Festival will become an annual event. Dig out your popcorn for a mixture of old favourites and, hopefully, new favourites with The Jungle Book and the Greatest Showman among those featured.

A range of venues are being trialled and five of the nine films will be relaxed screenings. Tickets will be priced £4 for full price and £2 for concessions. The group kick off the festival with a mystery film chosen by their supporters in Prestwick Academy at 6.30pm on March 14.
