A WEATHER warning has been issued for much of the UK as strong winds are set to batter the coastline.
The Met Office issued the yellow warning with the northwesterly winds expected during Tuesday night and Wednesday, with transport disruptions possible in Ayrshire.
The warning says that issues that could arise from the weather include:
- Bus and train services affected, with some journeys taking longer
- Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely
- Some short term loss of power and other services is possible
- It's likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities are affected by spray and/or large waves.
