KIDS at Kingcase Primary School made sure they got right into the spirit of Comic Relief.

The Prestwick youngsters opted to wear pyjamas for the day in exchange for a donation to the global charity.

And they were joined by teachers, who also dispensed with normal workgear and opted to don pyamas for the day.

The children also wore the celebrated red noses, which are a central part of the charity venture.

Classes from all age groups got into the spirit of the event. And a few even chose to show off the popular fluffy Deeley Boppers. Their efforts helped secure a sizeable sum, with more than £400 raised in all.

A school spokeswoman said: “Thanks to everyone who took part. It was a great effort and we are grateful to everyone for their support.

In all the BBC-backed charity venture secured £63.5 million on the night for the charity, with a follow-up to Four Weddings and a Funeral along with a climb of Kilimanjaro among the highlights.

There was also an appearance from Bodyguard star Keeley Hawes with Little Mix and Marti Pellow of Wet, Wet Wet fame also providing musical entertainment.
