A KAYAKER was rescued after getting in to trouble off the coast of Brodick last week.

Arran RNLI crew responded swiftly to reports of a kayaker in distress last Wednesday, March 20.

The volunteer crew quickly launched the inshore lifeboat to come to the kayaker’s aid. Once arriving on scene it was established that the casualty had managed to swim ashore.

Helm Brian Donlin said: “Today’s call was a fantastic example of when having the different resources available on Arran is really valuable. While in the end we weren’t required on scene this callout could have easily turned out differently and required the lifeboat. The Coastguard team had all of the assets they needed in easy reach which made sure a positive outcome was achieved for everyone.”
