Emergency services rushed to a property in Burnside Place in West Kilbride after reports of a fire on Sunday evening.
A spokesman for Scottish Fire and Rescue said: “The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 6.50pm to reports of smoke within a property in West Kilbride.
“Operations Control mobilised three fire engines to the scene, at Burnside Place, however a small fire involving a kitchen appliance had already been extinguished.
“One male casualty suffering from minor smoke inhalation was passed into the care of Scottish Ambulance Service personnel, but required no further treatment.
“Crews left the scene at 7.37pm after ensuring the area was made safe.”
