KILWINNING’S Miss Ayrshire held a successful charity Ladies Night last week.
Eighteen-year-old Shelly Smith, who was crowned Miss Ayrshire 2018-19 back in November, hosted a ladies night for Kidney Research UK in Taylor’s on Saturday, April 6.
And the former Pennyburn and Kilwinning Academy pupil told the Herald the event raised £400 for the charity.
Shelly Smith said: “It was so great when it all kicked off, we had butlers and we played loads of games – the butlers were great fun. There was also a raffle and a mini auction as well that raised an extr a £100.
“A few people signed up for the Kidney Research sponsored walk as well which is in September.
“I became Miss Ayrshire back in November. It was a pageant with four rounds in the Dumfries Arms against other girls and I came out the winner.
“Since then I’ve been working with Cancer Research as well and doing stuff in Kilmarnock with them, as well as the Yamaha opening night as they’re one of my sponsors. I’ve done a few things with them and have a few more photo shoots coming up. I’m also going to do a drag night as well, I’m just organising that just now for June.”
