THE man who died in Dalry on Saturday night has been named locally as 25-year-old Daryl Nimmo.

Police and paramedics rushed to the scene in the town’s Townend Street on Saturday just before 9.30pm after the alarm was raised but Daryl was sadly pronounced dead.

It is believed that Daryl is originally from the New Cumnock area and tributes were paid online to him by friends.

Stephanie Kane said: “Canny believe you’re gone rip wee man gbnf. The memories I have of us all in Highpark will always be there with me.”

Sammy Kane added: “Rip Daryl canny believe it took away far too soon.

“The memories of the old days will never be forgotten and all the times you’d bam me up or we got in tae bother well that’s was probably 99 per cent of the time.”

And Daryl’s ex-partner Lisa McIntyre shared a single solitary emoji depicting a broken heart.

A 19-year-old man has appeared in court charged with murder following Daryl’s death.

Daniel Brown, who is from the Edinburgh area, appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Monday afternoon where he made no plea.

He is expected to appear again before the court next week.
