A MAN is in a stable condition following an 'altercation' at a property in Saltcoats last night.
Police and ambulance services attended the scene at Old Raise Road around 8pm following reports of the incident.
A 31-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries and his condition is described as stable and a 39-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident and is due to appear in court tomorrow (Thursday).
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 8pm on Tuesday, May 7, Police Scotland received reports of a 31-year-old man being seriously injured following an altercation in a property in Old Raise Road, Saltcoats.
"Emergency services attended and the man was taken to Crosshouse Hospital where his medical staff describe his condition as stable.
"A 39-year-old man was later arrested and charged and he is due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Thursday, May 9 and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
