An Ardrossan Academy pupil and her dance partner have won a national competition.
Kiera McLean and her partner Kenzie Strang were judged top in 13-15 category at the STV Children’s Appeal Strictly Kids event.
Kiera, 14, and her partner Kenzie won after performing the Dirty Dancing routine at the competition at the Glasgow Hilton on May 5.
Kiera’s step-dad, Ryan Crossley, told the Herald: “It’s brilliant, she’s absolutely buzzing.
“Her and her partner only had five training sessions together which was a lot less than the other performers because Kenzie’s gran had passed and there’s a lot of distance between Kiera and Kenzie – he stays beyond Glasgow.
“Kiera’s got a big beamer on her face. We’re really proud of her, it’s brilliant. And Kenzie too – he’s only 12.”
