‘COMMUNITY’ will be the theme for Learning Disability Week 2019, which runs from Monday, May 13 to Sunday, May 19.
And to celebrate residents with learning disabilities being active, connected and included in our communities a series of events will be running throughout the week.
As part of the celebrations, an ‘All Together Now’ event will be held at Fullarton Connexions in Irvine on Wednesday, May 15.
The event runs from 11.30am to 2.30pm and activities on the day include bat and chat, walking football tasters, free health checks, a shadow puppet theatre and a music and movement session.
There will also be information stands from organisations including Centrestage, KA Leisure, Ayrshire College and Ayrshire Independent Living Network, where you can find out how to access education, volunteering opportunities, social activities and more.
Thelma Bowers, Head of Learning Disability Services for North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership, said: “The events provide opportunities for people to come together and share experiences while enjoying fun activities."
