£3MILLION is being invested in North Ayrshire to modernise and strengthen the resilience of key electricity network routes.
The year-long project will allow for vital upgrades to the network which supplies around 31,000 homes and businesses in the Three Towns, Kilwinning and Irvine areas.
Following analysis of the networks’ fault history and performance, SP Energy Networks, the Distribution Network Operator in Central and Southern Scotland, is installing new 33kV cables to modernise the existing infrastructure.
Work in High Road, Stevenston is under way and will continue in various locations throughout 2019, including Sannox Drive, Dalry Road and Kenilworth Drive in Saltcoats which will start at the end of April.
