Thirty four bowlers and curlers participated in the long running friendly match between Dalry Bowling Club and Dalry Union Curlers in a combination of pairs and triples.

The match was organised by curler Cyril McBryde and bowler William Kirkpatrick.

The winners at the end of the game were Jim McColm, Neil Glachan and Robert Young. Runners – up were Robert Logan and William Kirkpatrick.

A special gift was presented to Jenny McBryde for donating enough scones and jam tarts to feed everyone.

At the end on the day William Kirkpatrick proposed a vote of thanks to everyone who had assisted on the day and his words were reiterated by Rober Logan on behalf of the curlers.

On Sunday, May 5, 12 children attended the Club’s Juniors Open Day designed to introduce them to to the game of lawn bowls. The exercise proved to be a great success and will be repeated in the near future.

Unfortunately, the forthcoming Francis Glachan Memorial Trophy has been postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.
