SLIGHT early morning drizzle lifted to help make one of the top summer events in the community a major success on Saturday.
Crowds came out in good numbers once again for the ever-popular Symington Gala.
The fun and games began with a colourful parade which left Symington Primary School on the way to Shaw Park/ Among characters lining the route were this year’s mascots, Beast and Belle along with Bumbleee and Minion.
Also represented in costume was the Gruffalo, hero of the acclaimed children’s book.
Highlight of the day was the crowning of the 2019 Gala Queen, Nathasha Morrison in Shaw Park by the 2018 Queen Rosie Wallbanks.
On the day there were a whole host of stalls, featuring a huge range of items and the ever-popular inflatables were a really popular attraction.
There was a beer tent and some music was provided by the Ayrshire Ukes, who play ukelele music across the community...
Thanks go to everyone who took part in the event.
Gala fun continues throughout the week, with kids football, a kids’ football final and netball.
A pre-school disco is also being organised and discos for P1s to P7s.
