Garnock Community Campus hosted a health and wellbeing day for the first-year pupils.

The event was held in the school on Friday, May 17 and was aimed at giving the students a better understanding of their physical and psychological wellbeing.

Pupils learned all about various aspects of health and how to keep themselves in good shape mentally and physically. They were also introduced to therapy animals from Therapets.

Teacher Emma Steven said: “The day involved many activities such as the importance of resilience, the benefits of growth mindset, mandala project, sustainable development goals, preventing the spread of viruses, meditation, budgeting, and a visit from Therapets.

“There was also fruit and water for every pupil, donated from Tesco in Kilbirnie, and a fitness session provided by KA Leisure.

“The aim of these was to give pupils a greater understanding of their mental and physical wellbeing.

“All of the pupils had a great time and the feedback was extremely positive.”
