THE Ardrossan Coastguard Rescue Team had a very special visitor recently when search dog Max and his handler Ryan Gray stopped by the station.

Ryan and Max were visiting the search and rescue helicopter officers at Prestwick Airport as part of their ongoing training and engagement process and took the opportunity to visit Ardrossan before their onward trip to Wales for a training course.

Ryan is also a full-time officer working within CGOC Belfast Coastguard while also saving lives and assisting Coastguard Rescue teams with Max in Northern Ireland in his spare time.

The Ardrossan team said: “Max is an invaluable asset and we are looking forward to seeing Max continue to develop his search and rescue skills. We promise we will have some treats ready on station next time too!”
