A PERVERT teacher has been found guilty of repeatedly having sex with a 14-year-old pupil.

Ryan Fisher, 29, preyed on the girl when she studied at his school in Ayrshire.

Fisher, of Troon, was found guilty at Ayr Sheriff Court yesterday (Monday) after a week-long trial.

Jurors took less than half an hour to return the majority guilty verdict.

Sheriff Desmond Leslie warned Fisher he may face jail after being found guilty of the child sex rap and breaching a position of trust at Prestwick Academy.

He told Fisher: “Offences of this character generally attract a custodial sentence.”

Fisher had denied having sex with the then pupil between December 2013 and February 2015.

And his victim, now 20, was forced to relive her ordeal by giving evidence last week.

Fisher admitted swapping around 1,000 social media messages with the girl — including a comment that he was “like a Jimmy Savile”.

He also admitted sending her messages about taking the contraceptive pill before meeting him.

The court also heard Fisher joked with a friend he was seeing “an illegal bird”.

The trial heard he had exchanged Facebook messages in June 2015 with Michael Ferrara — who agreed with fiscal depute Hayley Robertson they were discussing a sexual relationship Fisher was having.

In the online conversation, Fisher wrote: “I can never tell anyone not even you.”

Mr Ferrara asked: “Someone I know? ” Fisher answered: “No. An illegal bird hahaha.”

His friend asked: “Underage??? A pupil???”

Fisher then replied: “NO!!!

"Holy f**k. I value my career more than that.”

Fisher later left the dock for the witness box.

He told his counsel Mark Moir he was also a part-time special police constable at the time the alleged sexual relations were happening.

Asked about the “illegal bird” comment, he said at least three years before his Facebook chat with Mr Ferrara he slept with a woman on his 21st or 22nd birthday.

Fisher continued: “I didn’t realise she was a prostitute until she asked me for money.

As far as I know, prostitution is illegal.”

Fisher told the court his behaviour had been “silly”.

He said he had met the schoolgirl “five or six” times in his car, including in the early hours of the morning.

But he denied there had been any sexual contact.

He said: “I’ve lost my career and I’ve lost my life.

“ I made some silly comments but I would never contemplate having sex with a student.

“I would immediately lose my job.

“I was naive - I know it wasn’t wise to be communicating with her.

“I realise how strange it looks now (to meet her in his car) but I’m paying for it.”

The girl’s mother told the trial she’d discovered messages between the pair in January 2016.

She said:“My daughter had been acting very secretive for a while.

“There were messages from Ryan along the lines of, ‘I think we should have a reunion,’ ‘I miss you,’ and, ‘Is it ever going to happen again?’ I felt sick.

“My daughter got so upset, she got herself into a ball.

“She told me they had been having a sexual relationship.”

Fisher’s bail was continued and he will be sentenced next month.
