TOP bowlers from across Ayrshire have made the grade to be included in the Scotland sides picked to face off in the International Series later this month.
Both the male and female sides were announced this week with no less than 10 Ayrshire players making the cut to the elite level.
In the women’s team, who will travel to take part in the International Series on Sunday 16, Monday 17 and Tuesday, June 18 at Les Creux BC, Jersey, Hannah Smith and Claire Johnston from Auchinleck, Susan Murray from Ayr Seafield, Lawra Cox and Wendy Grant from West Kilbride and Dawn Anderson from Newton Park all made the squad with Dawn a new cap following her magnificent performances last year at the Scottish Bowling Championships at Northfield.
In the gent’s side, two youngsters have been called up for their first caps with two old heads in the fold too. Darren Weir of Prestwick and Blair Davidson from Blacklands BC, pictured right, will feature alongside Northfield’s David Crawford and Troon Portland’s Commonwealth, World and Atlantic Rim Champion, Paul Foster MBE.
The guys are at home at the National Centre for Bowling at Ayr Northfield on Saturday 29 and Sunday, June 30 For more details, visit Bowls Scotland's website.
