TRIBUTES have poured in for Ayr wrestling legend Adrian 'Lionheart' McCallum who has died aged 36. 

Insane Championship Wrestling announced the shock passing of Lionheart on social media this evening and in a brief statement said: "We are heartbroken to learn of the tragic death of ICW World Heavyweight Champion, Adrian ‘Lionheart’ McCallum.

"Adrian was a mainstay of ICW and British professional wrestling. Most importantly, he was our friend. His passing leaves a huge hole in the lives of those who knew him.

"Please respect his family’s privacy at this time."

The Ayr man was the current heavyweight champion having previously recovered from a horrific neck break during a match with AJ Styles.

Fellow Ayrshireman and wrestler Grado paid tribute to his friend and fellow competitor saying he would be 'forver the champ'

The Stevenston grappler said: "RIP my brother Lionheart - thank you for everything you done for the British wrestling scene, but more importantly for being our pal. 
"Forever the champ x"

The owner of ICW, Mark Dallas, posted a short but poignant tribute and said: "Love you playa. Forever our champion x"
