A GROUP of volunteers from the McDonald’s restaurant in Stevenston recently teamed up to give Stevenston Beach a refresh.
13 volunteers, including restaurant staff and members of the 1st Stevenston Boys Brigade, teamed up with local man Ian Cassidy to collect ten bags of litter from the beach.
Cassidy is known locally as the nation’s favourite litter picker as he has collected over one million pieces of litter over the last two and a half years.
This event is one of the many clean ups taking place as part of Keep Scotland Beautiful’s national Spring Clean campaign, encouraging local communities to act and work together to tackle litter.
The campaign forms part of an eight-year partnership between McDonald’s and Keep Scotland Beautiful.
