Plans to build nearly 200 new homes in Kilwinning have been submitted to planning chiefs.

An application to build 198 houses at a site south of Wood Farm, Dalry Road was submitted by Taylor Wimpey last week – who state that around 205 direct and indirect jobs would be created annually over the construction period.

The proposed development includes nine house types ranging from two, three and four-bedroom properties and would create a new access point from Dalry Road and a secondary point of access will be provided for emergency access.

The applicant states the development will bring a choice of house types and sizes to the local area to reflect the local demographic and ensure that the proposal offers a variety of homes that are affordable for residents.

Plans will be discussed at the next meeting of Kilwinning Community Council on the June 20 at 7pm in Kilwinning Academy and can be viewed online on the North Ayrshire Council website.
