TWO North Ayrshire groups featured in a hip-hop documentary broadcast on the new BBC Scotland channel.

Three Towns rap group All Time High and Laser City Crew from Irvine were both involved in the filming process of Loki’s History of Scottish Hip-Hop.

The documentary reveals the history of Scottish hip-hop, as Darren ‘Loki’ McGarvey looks back at over 30 years of culture and speaks to the pioneers in music, dance and art.

All Time High were approached by Sasquatch Productions last year to feature in the programme along with other artists who have all made a contribution towards building the scene.

Nunny, who is a member of All Time High, said: “It was great to asked to be a part of this, it’s really good to see Scotland’s hip-hop culture being represented.”

Irvine’s Laser City Crew who also feature in the documentary talk about how the break-dance scene first started and the rivalry between them and Glasgow City Breakers with stories about the world-famous dance battles at the Plaza Ballroom in Glasgow in the early 1980s.

The programme can be viewed on BBC iPlayer here.
