A missing snake was reunited with its owner months after going missing after making a surprise appearance in Kilwinning’s Main Street.

A community councillor told how they were left looking after the cornsnake after it appeared outside Beth Brownings bakery on June 14.

After secretary Nairn McDonald suggested the group highlight the Kilwinning baker’s award-winning tatty scone success, community councillor Linzi Bingham added: “and for leaving me with a snake last week.”

After the surprise appearance, Beth Brownings posted on their Facebook page: “New customer at Beth Brownings. It came in for some award winning macaroni pies but sssssorry none left.

“This wee guy was found outside the shop. If anyone knows who’s it is, it’s in Betfred across from shop.”

Community councillor Linzi Bingham said the snake had since been reunited with its owner.

She told the Times: “It actually belonged to the guy who owned the pet shop. He thought it had been stolen but it had escaped.”
