A Celtic Youth football player kicked off events at this year’s Ardrossan Whitlees Gala.

Liam Morrison cut the red ribbon to open the parade at Ardrossan’s annual fete on Sunday, June 23.

Following the colourful procession with its spectacular floats, the gala was officially opened by Kenneth and Patricia Gibson.

This year’s Gala Queen and King were Abby Hunter and Harrison McCulloch. Princes John McMahon and Sam Ferguson and Princesses Georgie Hyslop and Millie Stevely made up the rest of the Royal Party.

Julie Gray, chairwoman of Whitlees Gala Committee, said: “It went great. Everybody had a great day.

“We would like to thank Liam Morrison who plays for Celtic, Mr and Mrs Gibson, everybody in the community, Ardrossan Winton Band and everyone who helped out on the day. Also, CJ Party Hire for the inflatables.”
