The first school show performed at the new Garnock Community Campus building was a sell-out success.

Schools Will Rock You, a musical based on the songs by Queen, sold out all three nights it was performed.

Talented pupils from S1-S6 worked tirelessly for months to ensure a spectacular show.

Caroline Shedden, principle teacher of Music and Drama, told the Herald: “It was absolutely amazing, brilliant. Our last night was pretty awesome.

“It was the first time we’ve had a show in the new school building and the first time the school’s had a musical in about 10 years. We’ve had pantos and concerts and stuff but not a musical.

“We’re absolutely delighted with it. It all ran according to plan.

“The staff in the production team all came together and the cast too. We only had about 25 in the cast but that 25 were brilliant.

“They were just sensational. There were a lot of really young ones as well, first years.

“It was a sell-out every night.

“The cast, they’re all elated, and the head teacher is absolutely proud of everyone – we all are.”
