A 16-year-old boy was rushed to hospital after taking unwell in the Broomlands area, with police appealing to trace another male they believe could help their enquiries.
At around 12.35am on Saturday, June 29, police were made aware that a 16-year-old boy had been taken to Crosshouse Hospital after taking unwell on Mull Crescent, Broomlands, Irvine.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Enquiries are continuing to establish the exact circumstances. We believe that the 16-year-old man may have been in the company of another man in the Mull Crescent area before the ambulance attended.
"We are working to trace this man and would appeal for him to contact police to assist with our enquiries.
Information can be passed to Irvine Police Office through 101 quoting reference number 0198 of 29th June.
