THE joint winners of this year’s Tommy Reid memorial shield at St Anthony’s Primary School in Saltcoats were Meghan Tulloch and Devlin Frew.
The shield is awarded annually in memory of Tommy Reid to a Primary 7 pupil who demonstrates outstanding sportsmanship and kindness to others.
Tommy was a great friend to the school for many years until his death in 1996 and the shield has been presented every year since then, initially by his wide Patsy until her death in 2017, when Tommy’s daughters took over to keep his legacy alive.
Meghan and Devlin were presented with the shield at their leavers assembly by Tommy’s daughters Margaret, Patricia and Rosemary, who is a retired teacher from the school.
