DRIVERS are being warned to expect road misery as two busy trunk roads are shut off.
Scotland TranServ is patching approximately 1km of the A76 South of Sanquhar at Enterkinfoot.
This will trigger road closures over the weekend which may disrupt residents.
The trunk road will be locked down from Friday, July 19 to Monday, July 22.
Resurfacing works will also take place on around 1km of the road north of Mauchline at Howford Bridge.
An overnight closure of the carriageway will be implemented on Thursday, July 11 from 8pm until 6am, followed by a weekend closure of the trunk road from 7pm on Friday, July 12 until 6am on Monday, July 15.
Omar Sarwar, Scotland TranServ’s Assistant Engineer said: “The patching programme will see around a kilometre of the A76 resurfaced in this area. We are working across the weekend in order to minimise disruption to the commuters and businesses who use the route every day.”
Michael Pagan, Scotland TranServ’s Network Area Manager for Dumfries and Galloway said: “We’ve been working in consultation with local authorities, emergency services and key stakeholders to carefully schedule these works.”
