STAFF at an Irvine ice cream shop were left terrified after man tried to smash the shop’s windows during a drunken rampage.
Workers in Shells, Scoops and Shakes in Irvine’s High Street were terrorised by a drunken customer who abused them as they tried to serve him at around 10.30pm last night (Tuesday, July 9).
The man then took his rage outside and lifted a metal sign and tried to smash the shop windows whilst the staff cowered inside.
Michelle Harkin, company director for Shells, Scoops and Shakes told the Times her staff were traumatised by the incident.
She said: “He came in a terrorised the girls in the shop, then he went outside and tried to put the windows in with a sign. They were terrified.
“He was clearly drunk but he needs to be off the streets. He can’t be behaving like this.”
Anyone with information should call police on 101.
