Judges had a tough time deciding on the winners at the Lapraik Festival Children’s Poetry Competition.
Organised by Muirkirk Community Council, the annual competition was part of the wider Lapraik Festival and saw the primary schools of East Ayrshire take part.
Organiser Harry Murray said: “It went very well. All the primary schools in the district competed except Logan.”
The overall East Ayrshire Schools Champion was Amber Russell from Mauchline Primary School.
Tiegan Strickland won the junior category, with Nieve McMillan and Ruby Wallace coming second and third respectively.
First place in the middle category went to Miley McLean, with Lea Purdie taking second and James McColm coming third.
In the senior category, Kelsie McLean was first, and Rhianna Russell was runner-up.
