A MAN was rushed to hospital with cuts to his head and torso after a mass 'disturbance' in Saltcoats on Monday afternoon.
Police received a number of reports of the alleged incident in the town's Doon Place and responded shortly before 4pm on Monday, July 8.
As a result, a 38-year-old was taken to hospital and 36-year-old man was arrested and charged with serious assault.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "Police can confirm they responded to multiple reports of a disturbance involving a number of people at Doon Place, Saltcoats at 3.45pm on Monday, July 8.
"As a result of this incident a 38-year-old man from Saltcoats required hospital attention for cuts to his head and torso.
"A 36-year-old Saltcoats man has been arrested and charged with a serious assault."
