NORTH Ayrshire Council has been recognised for its continued support for carers.
The local authority has been marked as having made excellent progress in the last year by Carers Scotland.
The council has been commended by the organisation for providing an extensive support environment for those working with the authority.
In 2018, the council was recognised as a Carer Positive Employer.
They have surpassed this in 2019 by reaching the second level – Carer Positive (Established) – of the three-stages.
Councillor Robert Foster, Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care Partnership, said: “Caring is becoming an increasing part of everyday life and as a council we have to lead the way.
“Carers can be overlooked, we have to ensure this is not the case in North Ayrshire.”
