A 45-year-old woman was taken to hospital last night for treatment for two arm injuries following an alleged serious assault.
Last night in Central Avenue, Ardrossan, police were called to a disturbance and a 29-year-old woman was arrested and charged.
She is now due to appear in Kilmarnock Sheriff Court this afternoon.
A spokesman for Police Scotland: "On the evening of Thursday, July 11, police were called to reports of a disturbance on Central Avenue, Ardrossan.
"As a result of this incident a 29-year-old woman was arrested and charged with a serious assault, she is currently custody to appear before a Sheriff at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court today (12/07/2019).
"A 45-year-old woman was taken to Crosshouse Hospital by ambulance where she received treatment for two wounds to her arm before being discharged."
