A Kilbirnie couple who run a local business were contestants on a BBC show hosted by Grado – and scooped the winning prize.
Derek and Maureen Sweeney, of Ultimate Moments Videography, took part in Test Drive, which aired on BBC Scotland last Thursday.
The show was filmed on April 4 and the couple had to answer questions on a route from Lockerbie to Gretna Green.
There were three teams of two and whoever answered the most questions correctly on route won £500.
Derek said: “We had a great day filming and really enjoyed the experience. The team at Bandicoot Productions who produce the show were absolutely fantastic.
“We are delighted to have won the £500 prize but haven't decided as yet what we are going to spend the money on. We will probably put it towards a well-deserved holiday in September/ October
Maureen added: “It was great to take part in the show and obviously winning the £500 was brilliant.
“We didn't really know how it would go on the day, but everyone involved in the show were brilliant, nothing was a problem and we are so pleased to have been selected out of some many thousand applications.
“As videographers it was also strange to be in front of the camera on the day rather than behind it.”
