Saturday, July 20 saw Dalry Bowling Club once again proud to host the popular A&A Trophy contest sponsored by Audrey and Allan McInnes.

Following the introductions by Gent’s President Hutchison, 16 pairs teams took to the green to play in a four section format leading to the semi-finals where Tessa Stirling and Sharon McInnes were defeated by Duncan Hutchison and Ronnie Macdonald who went through to meet Sean Stirling and Cyril McBryde who had a victory over Stevie Fenton and Cyril Owen.

The final was a close run game but in the end it was Duncan and Ronnie who came out on top to take the trophy for 2019.

On Sunday, July 21, 16 members from the Inverclyde Voluntary Council of Social Services visited the Club for a game of bowls followed by a buffet meal interspersed with a few refreshments. This is an annual event which the Club was pleased to host once again.

Also on Sunday the Club’s Top Ten Team travelled to Ladeside of Kilbirnie BC to compete in the Garnock Valley Bowling Association’s final. Unfortunately on the day the visiting team didn’t do themselves justice and failed to win any of their matches which meant Ladeside of Kilbirnie were worthy winners of the G.V.B.A. Top Ten Trophy.

In the North Ayrshire Bowling League the Dalry/Glengarnock team lost out to Saltcoats B.C. by 77 shots to 83. The match was played at Glengarnock works BC.
